Grand Lake theater drawing

Our beloved neighborhood theater opened in 1926 (as a silent movie theater before the days of "talkies"). It is still the cornerstone of the neighborhood and I love seeing it every day. This is a simple ink wash drawing / painting with white pastel highlights. I wanted to evoke a timeless feeling as I hope the theater will last at least another hundred years.

My Book "Life Lines: Drawing from Life"

Here is my book of drawings and sketches recently published through Lulu.com. Lulu was very fast. it arrived about a week after final uploading of all the copy and covers.

Drawings include those from my "meeting series", local scenes around San Francisco, as well as people on the street and professional models in figure drawing workshops with other artists in the Bay Area.

Check it out at http://stores.lulu.com/rudisill I would appreciate any feedback or reviews left on the Lulu site too! http://www.lulu.com/content/791154

So far this is the most popular image I have on flickr. I am somewhat surprised. I guess it is very universal. I love drawing people on planes. Sometimes it starts a conversation, sometimes it just passes the time for me. This is an ink drawing which I photoshopped to add the shading.
